Abstract
The main purpose of this research is to test and analyze emphirically the impact of profitability, liquidity, firm size, business risk, and tangibility on leverage. In this research, 34 food and beverage companies were used as samples listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange with a total 9 years ranging from the period of 2014 – 2022. The secondary data was collected from the Indonesian Stock Exchange website with multiple regression analysis using Eviews 10th program.
The sample was selected based on purposive sampling technique. The data analysis method that were used in this research is descriptive statistics, panel data analysis model, data quality test, classic assumption tests, multiple linear regression, coefficient of correlation, coefficient of determination, goodness-of-fit test, and hypothesis test.
The results of this research shows that liquidity has a negative impact on leverage. Meanwhile, tangibility has a positive impact on leverage. Whereas for profitability, firm size, and business risk has no impact on leverage.
